Starting the day off will be the women's 6k race at 11:00 am; the Blue Devils will look to improve on their 6th place finish last year. Coming off a strong race at muddy Oberlin, the team is looking to secure a third place finish on Saturday. "We are looking to continue to run faster together, and have 2-3 runners finish all conference" said Coach Wilson. This will be a very close race between Fredonia, Cortland and New Paltz. "The team that holds it together in the last "k" will be the winner of the three" says Wilson.
The Men's 8k race will start at 12 noon; the Blue Devils are looking strong behind nationally ranked, #15 Cortland and #18 Geneseo for a solid third place finish. "This men’s team has turned things around with a tight group of 7 guys made up from underclassmen, juniors and one senior", said Coach Wilson. The team will be looking to have 2-3 runners make all conference, last year we did not have any. It will be a very close race for the team title between Cortland and Geneseo, the two
teams have not faced each other yet this season. "If a mistake is made between either team, I ensure you that the Blue Devils will take advantage of it" said Coach Wilson
"Both of these programs have put in the work, studied and listened to their bodies to allow them the opportunity to achieve one of our season goals. I feel very lucky to have such a hard working group of athletes this season. No matter the outcome this weekend, this team is heading in the right direction and I am proud to be in the driver’s seat!" Coach Wilson
