Q: Where are you from?
Emily: Hilton, NY (a suburb of Rochester)
Q: How long have you been competing?
EP: I began running track in modified, and started cross country as freshman in high school.
Q: What attracted you to Fredonia?
EP: The people. I did two recruit visits and the people here made me feel like I never left home.
Q: What are you studying?
EP: I have a double major in Biology and Medical Technology.
Q: Explain your experience as a Blue Devil?
EP: My experience has been an incredibly positive one. I have changed a lot, mostly thanks to this program. I am certainly not the same athlete I was as an incoming Freshman. I've learned you sometimes have to re-evaluate what you thought you knew about running and just let go- because sometimes what worked for you before doesn't anymore. You can only begin to grow as an athlete and as a person when you let go of what you thought you knew, and embrace change.
Q: What are your athletic and academic goals?
EP: I hope to finish my final cross country season on a high note at Atlantic Regionals and continue to work on running new personal bests. I hope to make it to SUNYACS for the 5k in indoor, and try the 10k in outdoor.
- Academically, I hope to make Dean's List and to get straight A's this semester and next.
Q: What are your future plans?
EP: I've been accepted into Rochester General's School of Medical Technology and Clinical Pathology class of 2016, so I will be working at the hospital all of next year. After that, I hope to go on to get my master's degree and work as a Physician's Assistant in a Pediatric practice.
Q: What is your favorite food?
EP: Despite being from an incredibly Italian family, I'd have to say tacos.
