"The race went out well this weekend, I was in a good spot with Kyle and Collin. When push came to shove I couldn't hold on to the pace in the conditions. I didn't run up to par, but the whole season comes down to the next two races. Our team mantra this season has been to hurt together, and to run for one another. One of our strongest freshman, Big Pat, stepped up when I was struggling out there, and he helped me push through to finish the race. After talking to my teammates and coaches, I know that the team, myself included, are ready for championships. Our whole season has been focused on strong SUNYAC and regional finishes. Knowing that I have strong training and a team that is willing to hurt with me, I am confident that we will bounce back and turn some heads at SUNYACs. At this point we are no longer crossing our fingers and hoping for big things. We are going to do big things. No questions asked, and without any doubt."
The men and women will resume in two weeks at the SUNYAC championships hosted by SUNY Oneonta. The women will be looking to improve upon their 6th place finish last year, while the men are looking to improve upon 5th. The top 7 on both sides will be competing, along with Katie Tresino ('16), Alyssa Stroud ('17), Julia Johnson ('17), Kelly Vincent ('17), Sarah Rocco ('15), Bonnie Binggelli ('17) and Kara Hall ('17), and on the men's side Jed Kovalovsky ('15), JM Knapp ('15), Bobby Cooper ('17), Alex Crise ('16), Casey Swartz ('16), Vin Melia ('16), and Pat Walker ('17).
