In other men's events, Colin Cassidy posted a 4:55.93 mile to start his indoor season. Cassidy brings a very unique style to the team, contesting in both the high jump and middle distances. Freshman Nick Trubia won his heat of the 500m dash in a time of 1:15.10. Quillan Shimp and Aidan VanAmburg started their freshman multi careers with a solid performance in both the 1000m and high jump. (Shimp 2:48.37 / 1.72m)(VanAmburg 2:52.50 / 1.67m). Cameron Sample continued where he left off last spring with a triple jump of 13.01m and a strong performance with teammate Jordan Lockett in the 300m. (Sample 36.38 / Lockett 36.42). Both of those performance land them 7th and 8th all time in Fredonia history. Freshman Mike Emmel opened his season with a shot put throw of 13.10m, good enough for 5th overall.
In other women's events, Haley Lerner posted a 3.00m vault to finish in 8th place. Lerner took all of last year's indoor season off recovering from ankle surgery. In the 500m, freshman Kevina Drennan opened her career with a 1:30.00 to finish 7th overall.
"This was a very strong and productive start to the indoor season. We still have lots of work to do, but my staff and I look forward to the new year and posting more top 10 results in 2024" - Coach Wilson.
