Donovan covered the five-kilometer home campus course in 19:41.0, first among 56 finishers. Right on her heels was fellow junior Hannah Kurbs (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport), who stopped watches in 19:44.3. With those two showing the way, Fredonia defeated two other full squads for the team title. The Blue Devils collected 27 points, one point ahead of Gannon. D'Youville was third with 82 points. Hilbert also had runners entered.
Included in the team scoring for Fredonia were, in order, senior Kristen Guarino (Bergen, N.Y./Byron-Bergen), freshman Sarah Kurbs (Lockport, N.Y/Lockport), and senior Madison Courtney (Getzville, N.Y./Williamsville South). The two displacement runners were junior Emily Maguire (Oakdale, N.Y./Connequot) and freshman MaryClaire Haseley(Lockport, N.Y./Lockport).
RESULTS
Gannon University sophomore Joseph Westrick won the race in 15:56.1 for five kilometers, just ahead of Fredonia junior Ethan Francis (Dunkirk, N.Y./Dunkirk) and senior Merlin Joseph Jr. (Binghamton, N.Y./Binghamton). Francis was clocked in 15:57.5 and Joseph in 16:02.8.
Fredonia's scoring quintet also consisted of freshman Ryan Dunning (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee), junior Zak Kellerman (Depew, N.Y./Lancaster), and senior Mitch Loiacano (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport). The two displacement runners were sophomores Kyle Egan (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) and Aidan Pollard (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst).
Gannon won the team event with 23 points followed by Fredonia with 35, Hilbert with 93, and D'Youville with 102.
