Senior Zakk Hess led the way for the men, finishing in 8th place overall out of the 289 runners. He finished with a personal best time of 25:18.6. The rest of the top five runners also ran season best times on the 8,000 meter course. Junior Kyle Collins(14th place, 2:29.9), senior Chris Shartrand (20th place, 25:32.1), senior Jed Kovalovsky (52th place, 26:14.9), and sophomore Cody Martini (61st place, 26.30.0) were those top five finishers for the men.
Every runner for the women finished the 6,000 meter course in season best times. They were led by junior Lauren Kotas, who finished in 65th place out of the 286 runners with a time of 23:20.9. Sophomore Bonnie Binggeli followed with a time of 23:35.5, good enough for 77th place. The rest of the top five runners included sophomore Kara Hall (112th place, 24:17.9), sophomore Alyssa Stroud (127th place, 24:34.0), and freshman Maddie Courtney (140th place, 24:41.6).
The Blue Devils have this next weekend off from competition, and will race next on Saturday, October 18th in the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College.
