SUNYAC XC Championships

The SUNYAC Cross Country Championship meet was held this past Saturday, November 1st, at SUNY Brockport.  The men finished 4th out of 10 teams, while the women finished 7th out of 10 teams.

For the men, senior Zakk Hess finished 8th overall with a time of 25:56.1.  His performance helped him to earn a spot in the SUNYAC Cross Country Hall of Fame.  The top five runners also included senior Chris Shartrand (18th Place, 26:17.8), junior Kyle Collins (28th Place, 26:41.1), senior Jed Kovalovsky (31st Place, 26:43.6), and sophomore Cody Martini (32nd Place, 26:44.5).

Sophomore Lauren Kotas led the way for the women with a time of 23:36.6, good enough for 24th Place.  Following her was sophomore Bonnie Binggelli (33rd Place, 24:07.2) and sophomore Alyssa Stroud (45th Place, 24:35.7).  Rounding out the top five were sophomore Kara Hall (59th Place, 25:02.5) and freshman Maddie Courtney (69th Place, 25:20.8).

The final race of the Cross Country season for the Blue Devils will be the NCAA Atlantic Regional race held on Saturday, November 15th at Genesee Valley Park.
