The Blue Devil women started the day with a very strong showing against Division 2 powerhouse Edinboro. The women finished second overall, taking down D2, Mercyhurst and D3 rival Penn State Behrend. Senior, Kim Foltz was the first Blue Devil to cross the finish line in a 5k time of 19:26. Senior, Alissa Conti (19:43), Senior, Anna Hourihan (19:50), Junior Amanda Cocchiara (19:53), Sophmore, Katie Tresino (20:15), Junior Emily Palmeri (20:31) & Freshman Julia Johnson (20:36) had a top seven spread of 1:10 seconds. "This was a very strong showing for this early in the racing season" said Coach Wilson.
The Blue Devil women will compete for the first time at the Penn State Behrend XC Invite on Saturday, Sept. 14th. The women will race at 11:15 am. "This will be a great opportunity to show off how strong we are outside the Atlantic Region, we will look to run in a strong tight pack and pull each other through" said Coach Wilson.
The Blue Devil men will get an opportunity to race outside the Atlantic Region this weekend at the Penn State Behrend XC Invite. "This mens team is being pushed by some strong freshman, we will look to tighten the spread this weekend and come out on top" Coach Wilson.
