Weekend full of personal best times
Josh Walters and Kyle Campbell finished close behind, finishing 27th and 28th, respectively. Walters finished in 26:26.0 and Campbell 26:34.5, both personal best times for 8,000 meters.
Ted Tomasello, 38th in 26:54.6, and Patrick Klinger, 39th in 26:57.7 also life time bests, rounded out the scoring for the Devils.
Ethan Pocock, 27:37.2 in 59th place, and Joseph Hernandez-Bentley, 82nd in 28:27.6, were the displacement runners also saw personal best performances.
Sam Cottrell finished 86th in a time of 28:35.3. This was Cottrell's first 8k race of the season.
This was the Devils' first competition since jumping into the latest regional rankings. They were 10th in the Niagara Region poll that came out earlier this week.
Vanessa Ryhal finished in 21:21 for a 90th-place finish. Elizabeth Gloss was just over three seconds behind Ryhal, finishing 93rd in a time of 21:21.7, both times were personal best performances.
Kristin Kelemen (22:10.9, 115th) and Erin Cool (25:23.8, 152nd) rounded out the top five Devils.
Sarah Meder was the displacement runner, finishing 155th in a time of 26:26.5.
Both teams will be hitting the course this Saturday, October 1st at the 41st Annual Mike Woods Invite hosted by SUNY Geneseo. Women's 6k race starts at 11:00am with the men to follow at 12:00pm.
