For the women, junior, Anna Hourihan started the day off by bettering her 18:54 personal best in the 5,000m run set last month with a time of 18:53.06, the 5th fastest time in FSU history. The next women's race on the day was the 60m high hurdles. Hailey Griewisch highlighted this race with a lifetime personal best of 9.86 seconds tying Krista Morse for the second fastest time in school history . Immediately following the hurdles was the 60m Dash where freshman, Anna Dambacher (Left) broke her own school record of 8.18 set earlier this season with a time of 8.13. Dambacher later set a new personal best in 400m with a time of 1:01.84, a time that ranks 10th all-time in school history.
In the field, Senior, Kathleen Goodberlet had a huge toss of 14.14m (46'4.75") in the women's 20lb. weight throw earning her a trip to New York City for this year's Indoor ECAC Championships held at the historic Armory Field House. The qualifying standard in the 20lb weight throw is 14.05m.
Back to the track in the women's 1,000m run were sophomore, Amanda Cocchiara and Loren Kotas both doing their best to make it to the Armory and they did just that. Cocchiara finished with a time of 3:09.20 (5th All-time) and Kotas finished in 3:09.73 just under the ECAC qualifying time of 3:10.00. Then last but not least was the women's 4x800m relay to wrap up the women's day at historic Barton Hall. With an ECAC qualifying time of 9:52.50 the relay of junior, Kim Foltz, Cocchiara, sophomore, Leslie Beaton, and Freshman, Katie Tresino will also be heading to the Armory.
On the men's side the fun all started in the field when junior, Ben Goebel (right) became the 6th best pole vaulter in Fredonia State history when he cleared 4.35m (14'3") bettering his previous personal record of 4.25m (13'11.25") set earlier this season. In the men's mile, freshman, Collin Mulcahy won his heat with a new personal best of 4:22.06 improving on his 7th fastest time in FSU history that he posted early this year at Boston University's Terrier Classic. Then finishing up the day for the men was the Men's 4x800m, and like the women, they too were looking to punch their tickets to NYC, and like the women, they did just that. The relay of Mulcahy, freshman, Jeff Schmidt, sophomore, Zakk Hess, and sophomore, JonMichael Knapp ran an ECAC qualifying time of 8:04 flat.
