The men's race for the Blue Devils was highlighted by a 4th place finish from senior Zakk Hess. He finished in a time of 25:17.3, and his finish was good enough to earn him a spot at the NCAA Division III Championship race this Saturday. Following Zakk for the Blue Devils were senior Chris Shartrand (41st place; 26:07.4), junior Kyle Collins (44th place; 26:11.9), sophomore Cody Martini (52nd place; 26:17.9), and senior Jed Kovalovsky (57th place; 26:22.8).
Junior Lauren Kotas was the first finisher for the Blue Devils on the women side. She finished in 55th place with a time of 23:12.3. She was followed by sophomore Kara Hall (95th place; 23:50.6), senior Emily Palmeri (131st place; 24:24.9), sophomore Alyssa Stroud (150th place; 24:42.6), and freshman Maddie Courtney (151st place; 24:43.0).
While Zakk Hess is preparing for the championship meet being held in Mason, Ohio on Saturday, November 22, the rest of the team will turn their attention to the upcoming indoor track and field season. It was a great season of Blue Devil Cross Country for both the men and women, and they will be looking to keep that success riding into the track and field seasons.
