Q: Where are you from?
A: Victor, NY
Q: What event(s) did you compete in?
A: Pole Vault
Q: What did you study at Fredonia and what year did you graduate?
A: I majored in Finance with a minor in Economics. I graduated in May 2014.
Q: What attracted you to Fredonia?
A: The biggest thing that attracted me to Fredonia was the feeling I got as soon as I stepped on campus for the first time while I was doing my initial college visits. Fredonia instantly felt like home compared to the other colleges I had toured. I was also interested in being a DIII athlete which made Fredonia an easy choice.
Q: Explain your experience as a Blue Devil.
A: I had a great experience at Fredonia and I believe I owe much of my success currently to being a part of the Track and Field program. As a freshman I had great captains that served as not only as role models but great friends that I am still close with today. As I progressed through my years I found greater and greater success in my own performance and that of my teammates through the expertise of the coaching staff. I was given the opportunity to develop my leadership skills as one of the captains of the team. Though my time as a Blue Devil is complete I am excited for those who are just starting their journey and wish them much success.
Q: What were some of your athletic/academic highlights?
A: 2nd Place SUNYAC Men’s Pole Vault Outdoor 2014, SUNYAC All-Conference Team, ECAC Qualifier, SUNYAC All-Academic Team, Dean’s list.
Q: What kind of competitions have you participated in recently and how did you finish?
A: I took a year off from pole vaulting in order to focus on figuring out my career. However, I started vaulting again in June 2015 as a part of PVP a club run out of Warsaw, NY. My most recent competition was the Rochester Rockback Beach Vault.
Q: What is your current occupation?
A: I am currently a Business Data Analyst for Superior Group, a staffing company in Rochester, NY.
Q: What is your favorite TV show?
A: Breaking Bad, or South Park
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Anchorman
Q: If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: I’d love to go to Brazil. Between the rain forests, the beaches, and Carnival in Rio de Janeiro I think it would be a really unique experience.
Q: What is your favorite genre of music?
A: Pop Punk
Q: If you could give a small piece of advice to our current student-athletes/recruits what would it be?
A: Trust the process. There will be ups and downs but when it’s all said and done and you can look back on your college career (or even a single year) as a whole you’ll realize how far you’ve come.
Thanks Ben!
