Q: Where are you from?
A: Suffern, New York (West of New York City)
Q: How long have you been competing?
A: I started running cross country and track my freshman year of high school, so 7 years.
Q: What attracted you to Fredonia?
A: For someone whose home town is pretty far away, I was really impressed with Fredonia the first time I stepped on campus. The campus isn't the biggest, but because of that quality it has made it more convenient for me as both a student and as an athlete to get from place to place in a short period of time.
Q: What are you studying?
A: I am studying to become a mathematics high/middle school teacher, and to coach cross country and track & field at the high school level.
Q: Explain your experience as a Blue Devil.
A: My entire college experience here at Fredonia has probably been one of the best things that could have happened to me. Freshman year I was nervous about what my future would hold for me coming here, but as time went on, the friendships that I have created on and outside the team have helped me build my self-confidence. I now call Fredonia my second home.
Q: What are your athletic and academic goals?
A: My academic goals are to make the Dean's list for the remaining time that I am here. I want to push myself to earn a 4.0 GPA for the remanding semesters and give my teammates the best chance at an All-Academic title. Athletically, I want to make the All-SUNYAC team, All-Regional team and possibly run at NCAA’s in cross country. I also want to break 25 minutes in the 8K. For track, my goals are to win both the 5k and 3k titles at SUNYAC's and to break the school record in the 3k (8:21). If possible, I’d like to make NCAA’s in the 3k. The biggest goal that I have is helping my team win a SUNYAC title in cross country and track & field and to see everyone one of my teammates succeed and become the best athlete that they can be.
Q: What are your future plans?
A: I have another year here at Fredonia because of student teaching but after that, I don’t know for sure. For someone who is studying to be an educator, my path is unsure right now because I have the choice of grad school or finding a teaching job right after I graduate. But the future is unclear and really anything can happen. It all depends on what I do now that is the key to my future.
Q: What is your favorite TV show?
A: NCIS and The Big Bang Theory
