Among the top finishers for the men included freshman Rocky Caparro, who finished second in the triple jump, with a jump of 13.54 meters (44’5”), and fourth in the high jump, with a jump of 1.83 meters (6’0”).
Other Blue Devils to score in the top eight in there event include Collin Mulcahy in the 3000m (3rd place, 8:59.09), Jeremy Kozlowski in the 400m (8th place, 53.12), Sawyer Bell and Kyle Brown in the weight throw (6th and 7th place with throws of 14.71 meters and 14.54 meters respectively).
The women had a pair of first place finishers at the meet, with senior Nicole Desens winning the shot put and freshman Kristen Sawyer winning the pole vault.
Niki won the shot put with a throw of 12.82 meters (42’0.75”). She also ended up placing fourth in the weight throw with a throw of 14.16 meters (46’5.5”). Joining Niki in scoring in the shot put were junior Brianne Paganello and freshman Rachel Williams, who took 5th and 6th place respectively with throws of 10.73 meters (35’2.5”). Joining Niki in scoring in the weight throw were senior Jenna Fiacco (3rd place, 14.23 meters), and junior Heather Rickman (7th place, 13.34 meters).
Kristen Sawyer was able to win the pole vault with a vault of 3.20 meters (10’6”). Fellow freshman Julia Schreier took second place with the same vault as Kristen, 3.20 meters. Two other Blue Devils were able to score in the women’s pole vault. Those two were junior Olivia Kurbs (4th place, 3.05 meters) and freshman Mikayla Capestrani (5th place, 3.05 meters). Mikayla also scored in 6th place in the women’s long jump with a jump of 5.10 meters (16’8.75”).
Senior Meghan Devine was the only other scorer for the women Blue Devils. She finished in sixth place in the triple jump, with a jump of 10.20 meters (33’5.75”).
The next meet for the Blue Devils will be on Saturday January 24th, when they head to SUNY Brockport for the Brockport Golden Eagle Multi and Invitational.
