The top finishers on the track include junior Connor Hayward (7th place; 4:12.87) in the Men’s 1500 Meter Run; sophomore Rebekah Champlin (5th place; 43:20.10) in the Women’s 10,000 Meter Run; and juniors Alex Crise (8th place; 10:38.20) and Vincent Melia (9th place; 10:43.47) in the Men’s 3000 Meter Steeplechase.
Senior Nicole Desens was an event winner in both the Shot Put, with a throw of 12.34 meters, and the Discus Throw, with a throw of 39.12 meters. She was joined in the Shot Put by sophomore Brianne Paganello (5th place; 11.21 meters), and freshmen Annaliese Bienko (8th place; 10.67 meters) and Rachel Williams (10th place; 10.23 meters). Niki also took fifth place in the Hammer Throw with a throw of 45.11 meters. She was joined in that event by junior Heather Rickman (10th place; 40.11 meters) and senior Jenna Fiacco (11th place; 39.75 meters). Jenna also took fifth place in the Javelin Throw with a throw of 27.75 meters, while fellow senior Meghan Devine took 6th Place with a throw of 26.89 meters.
Other top finishers in the field events for the women include Meghan (7th place; 10.36 meters) and freshman Sarah Couperus (9th place; 10.27 meters) in the Triple Jump; Sarah in the High Jump (6th place; 1.42 meters); and freshman Jen Wasielewski (7th place; 2.85 meters) in the Pole Vault.
Top finishers in the field for the men include junior Tyler Gajewski (2nd place; 50.60 meters) in the Javelin Throw; junior Hsin Chin (2nd place; 52.32 meters), sophomore Kyle Brown (5th place; 44.10 meters), and juniors Sawyer Bell (8th place; 42.57 meters) and Kevin Geiser (11th place; 39.76 meters) in the Hammer Throw; Kevin in the Discus Throw (7th place; 37.73 meters); freshmen Damon Brown (6th place; 13.33 meters) and Brian Bernier (12th place; 12.08 meters) in the Shot Put; senior Doug Imperi (8th place; 3.66 meters) in the Pole Vault; and sophomore Brian Farfaglia (10th place; 1.73 meters) in the High Jump).
The next meet for the team will be next Friday and Saturday at SUNY Cortland.
