The quartet of Marcus Torres, Alec Wright, Tom Woods, and Michael Salvati finished with a time of 3:35.71, third overall but second among collegiate teams. Penn State Behrend finished 2.27 seconds ahead of the Blue Devils.
In other relays, Fredonia was the only school to enter teams in the distance medley relay, thus earning 18 team points in the event. Jeremy Erman, Wright, Kyle Campbell, and Ethan Francis combined for a winning time of 11:14.62.
Among the personal-bests in running events was a sixth-place finish by Noah Watkins in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:23.27. It was the second-fastest collegian in the race. Griffin Dombroske (200 meters), Woods (400 meters), and Matt Erman (800 meters) also recorded personal-bests.
In fields events, Dan Sudyn was second and Dombroske sixth in the triple jump, Sudyn was sixth in the long jump, Derek Sunderland tied for third in the high jump, and Jonah McGrath and Gus Alvarez Jr. tied for fifth in the pole vault.
Fredonia finished second among the eight college teams at Tiffin, a meet which also drew several non-collegiate running clubs
Serafin,Kurbs are Fredonia's Top tiffin finishers
Serafin, a sophomore, finished second in the triple jump at 10.96 meters. Kurbs, a senior, was third in the 3,000 meters with a time of 11:04.36. Fredonia finished seventh in the overall team standings.
Other top eight finishers -- thus earning team points -- were junior Kelly O'Hara, fifth in the 800 meters (the fourth collegian), and freshman Sydney Preston, eighth in the triple jump. Preston also attained a personal-best in the 60-meter hurdles.
Just outside the top eight -- in ninth place -- were sophomore Ayana Bursie (200 meters), freshman Emily Fish (400 meters), freshman Morgan Ashton (800 meters), freshman Elena Davis (3,000 meters) in running events; and Serafin (high jump) and senior Abriel Andrews (20-pound weight throw) in field events.
Fredonia's other personal-best of note was by sophomore Macy Brooks in the long jump. It came less than a week from her personal-best score of 2,245 points in the pentathlon during last weekend's Utica College Blue and Orange Invitational and Multi meet. She also attained a personal-best 60-meter hurdles time at Utica.
