Q: Where are you from?
Doug: I'm from Angola, NY. A small town 20 minutes north of Fredonia.
Q: How long have you been competing?
DI: I've been competing since my junior year of High School.
Q: What attracted you to Fredonia?
DI: I wanted to keep running in college, but I wasn't talented enough to run anywhere else. The coaches here gave me a chance to keep running track, so it was an easy choice.
Q: What are you studying?
DI: I'm studying political science and philosophy. Specifically, I concentrate on legal theory and principles.
Q: Explain your experience as a Blue Devil?
DI: My experience as a Blue Devil has been amazing. Most of my closest friends and greatest memories have come from the track team here. Any time I've succeeded here, I've had a crowd of people cheering me on. Any time I fall, my team is there to pick me up. I wouldn't trade my experience here for anything.
Q: What are your athletic and academic goals?
DI: Athletically I hope to take the SUNYAC title with my team, take the individual title in the Heptathlon, become an Academic All American, and to make an appearance at the NCAA Championships. Academically, I've been working on keeping a 4.0 in my last two years and I want to graduate Magna Cum Laude with High Honors in Philosophy.
Q: What are your future plans?
DI: I'm going to law school after Fredonia. I'm not sure where, but I want to be a Corporate Attorney. If it isn't too unreasonable of a goal, I'd love to someday work with the Supreme Court.
Q: What is your favorite TV show?
DI: My all time favorite show is Scrubs. The main character, J.D., is funny, nerdy, and has a good heart, which I can relate to.
