Q: Where are you from?
A: Horseheads, NY
Q: How long have you been competing?
A: I began running cross country in 7th grade. However I didn't begin indoor or outdoor track until I was a freshman in high school.
Q: What attracted me to Fredonia?
A: I wanted to go to a college that was close to home, but at the same time, far enough away. I also wanted to go to a school where I could run competitively. Coach Wilson never recruited me, but I came for a visit on campus and talked to him about possibly joining the team. A couple days after, I received a hand written letter in the mail from Coach Wilson, saying how he hopes I enjoyed my visit and that he hopes I choose Fredonia. That hand written letter was a major part in why I chose Fredonia.
Q: What are you studying?
A: I am an exercise science major with an athletic coaching minor.
Q: Explain your experience as a Blue Devil
A: My experience as a Blue Devil has been nothing short of amazing. My college experience didn't quite start out the way I had hoped, but the grieving would have been much worse had it not been for my teammates and coaches. Since my freshman year, I have seen this team grow into such a strong family. I have also seen myself grow tremendously and I am proud of where I am and where I have come from. I am thankful to have great teammates and incredible coaches to talk and to lean on whenever I need it. I am and forever will be proud to say that I am a Blue Devil.
Q: What are your athletic and academic goals?
A: Some of my athletic goals include breaking 28 minutes in the 8000m in cross country, breaking 16:15 in the 5000m this year in track, and making the SUNYAC roster for the 10000m. My main athletic goal is to leave here and know that I had nothing left to give, that I gave it my very best every time I competed. My academic goals include leaving college with a GPA of over 3.3 (Cum Laude) and getting accepted into a PT grad school program.
Q: What are your future plans?
A: My future plans include getting accepted into a PT grad school program, completing that, and becoming a physical therapist. I would also like to coach cross country/track & field at the high school level at some point.
Q: What is your favorite song
A: "I Hold On" by Dierks Bentley.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: "The Dark Knight Rises."
Q: If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
A: I would probably choose England. I went back in 2000 on a vacation with my family to visit family members. I would love to go back and see my family members that live there.
Q: What is your favorite genre of music?
A: Country.
Q: What is your favorite band/singer?
A: Dierks Bentley
Q: What is one of your favorite inspirational quotes?
A: My favorite inspirational quote comes from my high school coach, Coach J, who says "None of us are as good as all of us."
