Q: Where are you from?
Hailey: I am from Dunkirk, NY, the small town just down the road.
Q: How long have you been competing?
HG: I have been running track since my sophomore year of high school, so this is my seventh year competing.
Q: What attracted you to Fredonia?
HG: I wanted to go to Fredonia to stay close to my friends and family. I used to be very shy so venturing out on my own was not something I wanted to do when I was younger, Fredonia was the perfect fit for me.
Q: What are you studying?
HG: I will be receiving my degree in Psychology with a minor in Athletic Coaching.
Q: Explain your experience as a Blue Devil?
HG: My experience as a blue devil has been amazing. Being a blue devil has truly taught me what it means to work hard and persevere. As a blue devil I have not only learned so much about track and field, but I have also learned so much about myself in the last four years that I don't think I ever would have discovered without the positive influences I have had the opportunity to have.
Q: What are your athletic and academic goals?
HG: My athletic goals we to place in top 4 at SUNYACs and take over the hurdle records for indoor and outdoor. Academically, I hope to graduate cum laude and get accepted into a graduate program.
Q: What are your future plans?
HG: I have applied to a number of graduate schools and I will be pursuing my masters in clinical psychology in the fall. I will also be marrying my high school sweetheart in April 2016!
Q: What is your favorite animal? Why?
HG: I love giraffes! Anyone that knows me knows that from my massive collection seen throughout my apartment. Besides being awesome, I like giraffes because they are tall and awkward just like me.
