For this version of our Featured Athlete segment, we will be featuring Jed Kovalovsky, a senior distance runner for the team. Read what Jed had to say:
Q: Where are you from?
Jed: Owego, New York
Q: How long have you been competing?
JK: I've been running cross country and track for 10 years, since 7th grade.
Q: What attracted you to Fredonia?
JK: It has a great music program and I loved the campus when I first visited.
Q: What are you studying?
JK: I'm a piano major in music education.
Q: Explain your experience as a Blue Devil?
JK: I've learned a lot about the sport, worked hard and got faster, but also met some of my best friends. Some that are three years older than me and some three years younger. It's awesome and neither my Fredonia or running experience would be the same without the people I met.
Q: What are your athletic and academic goals?
JK: To finish out my senior year on a high note--in both respects. I'm not a 4.0 student and I haven't set any records but I am proud of what I've done here and I still have another few months.
Q: What are your future plans?
JK: My plan is to move to Rochester to student teach and hopefully find a job in public school teaching music after that.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
JK: The Dark Crystal
